Nontrivial Critical Groups in p-Laplacian Systems

We construct and variationally characterize by a minimax scheme involving the cohomological index of Fadell and Rabinowitz a new sequence of eigenvalues of p-Laplacian systems, and use the structure provided by this sequence to show that the associated variational functional always has a nontrivial critical group.
