Photon arrival time delay probability density function (PDF), caused by scattering and absorption, is described in terms of superposition of confluent hypergeometrc functions of distance and time. Despite that hypergeometric function is implemented in a GNU Scientific Library, resolution limitations prevent to calculate the value of PDF for large values of distance and time. We present numerical approximations for a PDF in terms of elementary functions, which allow to extend the minimizer support in the desired area of distance and time. Results are obtained by uniform expansion of a Parabolic Cylinder Function.
