This paper determined the factors that contributed to the excellence performance of the first batch of Form Three students in the subjects of Mathematics and Science in several selected schools in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. This is the first cohort who was taught in English for both subjects for three years before sitting for the Lower Secondary Assessment Examination. Due to the nature of the data, Logistic Regression Model was employed. The best fit Logistic Model identified nine contributing factors affecting the performance of the students. Simulation study was carried out to evaluate the performance of the Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) of the Logistic Regression Model. Eventhough nine explanatory variables were identified as significant the MLE produced large relative estimated bias.
