Krasnoselskii type theorems for hyperconvex metric spaces
by
Marcin Borkowski
Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland
The notion of a hyperconvex metric space was introduced in 1956 by Aronszajn and Panitchpakdi. Although their motivation was a Hahn-Banach type extension theorem, after some time it became clear that hyperconvex spaces possess many other interesting properties. Links to many branches of mathematics have been found, including fixed point theory. It turns out that many classical fixed point theorems have their "hyperconvex" counterparts. The purpose of the talk is to present two such results of Krasnoselskii type: one for single-valued mappings and one for multi-valued ones.
