Schur multiplier characterization of a class of infinite matrices

The talk is based on joint results with L. Marcoci and N. Popa. For 1 < p < ∞, we consider the space Bw(lp), the space of all bounded operators from the cone of modulus decreasing sequences of real numbers from lp on lp. We use a matrix operations introduced by N. Popa which extends to general matrices the usual product of a Toeplitz matrix A and a complex scalar c. Using the results about multipliers given by G. Bennett, we characterize the upper triangular positive matrices from Bw(lp) studying the behavior of [c].
