We prove that if X is either the product of two Souslin arcs or an inverse limit lim←{Si, fji}i=1∞ of Souslin arcs {Si}i=1∞, then every hereditarily indecomposable subcontinuum of X is metric. By a Souslin arc is meant a Hausdorff arc that is the compactification of a Souslin line.
