An overview of the proof of Edward's Cell-like Approximation Theorem in dimension 5 will be presented. The Cell-like Approximation Theorem characterizes the n-manifolds precisely as the resolvable ENR homology n-manifolds with the Disjoint Disks Property for 5 ≤ n < ∞. The case n=5 requires more care than the higher dimensional cases, the details of which have been published only recently.
