Thoughts about Hadwiger's Conjecture

In 1995 the book Graph Coloring Problems appeared, containing a chapter on Hadwiger's Conjecture. The same year, at the AMS-MAA meeting in January, I presented a survey of the conjecture, published in Congressus Num. 115, 1996. In this talk I shall try to summarize the development since then and present some thoughts about what one might try to achieve in the future.
