In this paper, a general predator-prey system in the plane is considered. We suppose that the prey's isocline admits only one extremum in the first quadrant. By utilising a suitable changes of variables, the system is reduced to a generalized Liénard system where the function F(x) admitted only one extemum in the half plane {x<0} or in half plane {x>0}. A new uniqueness theorem of limit cycles for generalized Liénard system is obtained. As an application, criteria for the uniqueness of limit cycles for predator-prey system is rerived.
