Perverted behavior of infinite alphabet stationary processes
by
Steven Kalikow
University of Memphis

Ergodic theory studies stationary processes but usually focuses on processes with a finite alphabet and an intuition is developed for such processes. This intuition breaks down on infinite alphabet process. Another topic discussed is uniform martingales (processes where the probability of present given the past is a continuous function of the past) because it turns out that every process can be extended to a uniform martingale on a countable alphabet
