Whitney preserving mappings
by
Alejandro Illanes
Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico

In 2002 Benjamin Espinoza Reyes introduced the notion of Whitney preserving mappping, for a mapping f between two metric continua. He showed that if f is a Whitney preserving map from an arcwise connected continuum onto the unit interval [0,1], then f is a homeomorphism. In this talk we present some generalizations to this theorem.
