Katetov order on Borel ideals

We will study an order on ideals on a countable set introduced long time ago by M. Katetov. We will show that Katetov order is an optimal tool for studying destructibility of ideals by forcing and present two dichotomies for Borel ideals and analytic P-ideals respectively. Many open problems will be posed.
