This paper presents Low earth satellite autonomous navigation, using measurements of the earth magnetic field.
An orbit state vector comprised of position and linear velocity states, ellipsoidal observer is used to estimate the satellite position and linear velocity.
The algorithm uses a "measurement" of earth magnetic field magnitude.
Consequently, this algorithm is independent of attitude information.
Simulation results yielded an accurate estimation and a few kilometers of position estimation error
