It is known that each solution of the abstract telegraph equation is approximately equal to some solution of the corresponding abstract heat equation. It is shown how to find the initial condition for the abstract heat equation in terms of the two initial conditions and intensity parameter of the abstract telegraph equation so that one can say that a given solution of the abstract telegraph equation is asymptotically close to a specific solution of the abstract heat equation.
