Fejér-Riesz Factorization and Positivstellensätze

We discuss several approaches to the Fejér-Riesz factorization of nonnegative trigonometric polynomials, as well as some abstractly similar problems amenable to the same techniques. We then turn to applications of the solution of these problems to various concrete Positivstellensätze.
