Modularity of a cubic fourfold

The modular form corresponding to a 2-dimensional isotypic component in the primitive cohomology of a certain smooth cubic fourfold with symmetries is explictly computed. A version of the Faltings-Serre method is used to compare the two relevant Galois representations.
