Yet another generalization of the Ramanujan-Nagell equation

A question of Ramanujan (first answered by Nagell) amounts to asking for the integer solutions to the Diophantine equation x2+7=2n. In this talk, we discuss various generalizations of this problem, running the full gamut, from the tedious to the tiresome.
