"Hyperbolic volume, Mahler measure and homology growth".

Abstract: Using L2 torsions we prove old and new results about the growth rate of the homology of finite coverings of knot (and link) complements. In particular, we formulate a new volume conjecture relating the growth rate of homology and the hyperbolic volume of knot complement. The conjecture is confirmed for knots with 0 volume.
