Description:
Mathcamp is an intensive 5-week-long summer program for gifted students which incorporates the fun elements of a camp and the following goals: inspire and motivate mathematically talented high school students by exposing them to the beauty and variety of mathematics; impart the knowledge and skill for the early pursuit of mathematics; provide a supportive environment for interaction among students who love mathematics. At Mathcamp you will learn exciting mathematical ideas not usually covered in high school; gain in mathematical understanding, skills, and confidence-whether in preparation for a possible career in math or science, as training for math competitions, or simply out of interest for the subject; get a unique chance to study with some of the finest mathematicians of today; meet and make friends with the mathematicians and applied mathematicians of tomorrow-fellow mathcamp students coming together, discovering common interests and purposes, and learning from each other.
