The CEMRACS school will host European researchers involved either in the GdR ''Systems of Charged Particles'' or the two TMR ''Kinetic Equations'' and ''Hyperbolic systems'' but the center will also welcome international researchers from other organizations who would like to take part to the present research program.

The ASCI laboratory will host the first period of the CEMRACS program devoted to advanced courses for international auditors.

The preliminary program of the postgraduate courses is as follows

The first week July 5th-9th : P.A. Raviart (CMAP, Ecole Polytechnique) " What models for plasmas? What Numerical methods for these models ?"

B. Perthame (DMI, ENS) " Kinetic Schemes for Hyperbolic systems ."

The second part will be devoted to the Numerical methods for the Boltzmann equation with a particular emphasis on stochastic methods.

The detailed program will soon be available on the web at http://www.asci.fr/cemracs/

These courses are intended to present the state of the art in distincts but complementary topics. The theoretical lectures are numerically illustrated by specialists through computer classes.

If you have any suggestions (topics, lecturers) , please use the mailing-list (see below).

The week from July 18th to 25th is optional in that opportunity to work at ASCI in Orsay can be possible if a coherent research program is proposed (and accepted).

Speakers: P.A. Raviart, B. Perthame
