The 90th anniversary (1999 October 15)
of the birth of Emeritus Professor Bernhard
Neumann will be celebrated in part by a
two-day function organised at the School
of Mathematical Sciences of the Australian
National University.
The first day (October 15) will celebrate the diversity of his contributions to the wider Australian mathematics community in a form which it is hoped will appeal to that community.
The second day (October 16) will celebrate some of his contributions to research in mathematics and especially algebra with presentations by representatives of his mathematical family. It will conclude with a celebratory dinner.
