Description:
QCAV'99 - the 5th International Conference on Quality Control by Artificial Vision - is sponsored by the Canadian Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Society. In today's industries, keeping the quality of their products is one of the most important functions of their production lines. Among many quality control activities, visual inspections are mainly executed by human operators. The problems of such visual inspections are the lack of strict definitions of the visual defects and the instability of human operators. Artificial vision systems have been applied to these problems and have achieved high quality production lines. In the conference, the newest research and developments for quality control by artificial vision will be presented and many practical and successful applications will be introduced. Many friendly and valuable discussions are expected. All the researchers who are involved in the following fields are welcome to present their papers in the conference. The 1999 conference will be held in conjunction with Vision Interface 99
