Description:
This conference provides a forum for mathematics educators who have researched or employed technology in their classes at the secondary, college, or undergraduate levels. The program, which includes five Plenary speakers and six concurrent Focus Groups, is attached. This meeting is modeled on similar conferences entitled Studies sponsored by the International Commission on Mathematics Instruction. To facilitate discussion the number of members within each focus group, and thus in the conference, is limited. Participants will be selected on the basis of a two page abstract. The chosen abstracts will be duplicated and circulated to all members of each particular Focus Group several weeks in advance of the conference to provide a basis for discussion. The conference organisers have also planned for a set of proceedings. Submission information will be provided during the conference.

Speakers: Jonathan Choate (Groton School), Paul Zorn (St. Olaf College), Jon Borwein (Simon Fraser University), Stephen Watts (University of Western Ontario), Loki Jorgensen (Simon Fraser University)

Date received: February 23, 1999
