Encouraged by the success of SANUM'98 we have decided to organise SANUM'99 from 29-31 March 1999, in Stellenbosch. SANUM'99 should differ from
SANUM'98 in several respects, all calculated to provide an enjoyable an informative conference at the lowest possible cost. Please encourage your students to
attend as well. We probably need about 20 people if we want to make use of University accommodation.
Although SANUM started off as an organisation for Numerical Analysts, many Applied Mathematicians have also found a home. We encourage not only Numerical Analysts but also Applied Mathematicians, especially those for whom the computer has become an important part of their activities, to attend the conference.
We are delighted that Nick Trefethen accepted our invitation to attend the conference!
