Description:
The Eighth International Symposium on High Performance Distributed Computing is a forum for presenting the latest research findings on the use of networked systems for high-performance computing. Such platforms coordinate geographically distributed heterogeneous resources and are commonly denoted as "computational grids" or "metasystems".

Submissions are encouraged on all aspects of high performance distributed computing, including hardware technologies, development of software infrastructure support, tools and environments which support distributed applications, and algorithms. This year, we are especially interested in papers describing algorithms and software development techniques which optimize program behavior in dynamic grid environments.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

Algorithms and application development tools which support high performance distributed computing Practice and experience descriptions of high performance distributed computing applications High performance I/O and file systems Security, configuration, and resource management issues Application, job, and resource scheduling strategies for computational grid platforms Fault tolerance strategies for heterogeneous distributed platforms Architectural support for high-speed communications or interconnection networks Efficient communication interfaces for distributed computing Tools for remote collaboration, distributed multimedia, and tele-immersion Networking infrastructure for metacomputing Quality of service, resource reservation protocols and strategies
