Description:
The development of modelling in the fields of superconductivity superfluids, reactive flows and combustion has given rise to a variety of highly sophisticated mathematical problems involving nonlinear Partial Differential Equations. At the same time, there have been many important developments in the mathematical treatment of PDE's.

The aim of this ASI is to bring together mathematicians with physicists working in these various topics and to give comprehensive and tutorial presentations of the basic ideas and more advanced developments and thus to encourage exchanges between these fields. The program is therefore meant to be interdisciplinary.

Speakers: M.Ausloos, L.P.Kadanoff, Y.Pomeau, F.A.Williams, H.Berestycki, R.Klein, J.F.Rodrigues, V.I.Zakharov, H.Brezis, D.Levermore, H.Stone, E.Zuazua, S.J.Chapman, A.Newell, G.Tarantello
