Description:
The aim of this workshop is to bring toghether expert scientists and young researchers in the fields of
theoretical and numerical analysis of partial differential equations of evolution type, with applications
to phase transitions, moving interfaces, level sets, reaction-diffusion systems, stochastic models.
The meeting is organized under the sponsorship of the Pavia and Milano research units of the Italian MURST-COFIN98 Research Projects "Advanced Numerical Methods for Scientific Computing" coordinated by Piero Colli Franzone, "Mathematical Analysis of Models of Phase Transitions and Related Problems" coordinated by Augusto Visintin, "Analysis and Control of Deterministic and Stochastic Evolution Equations" coordinated by Italo Capuzzo Dolcetta. Moreover, a partial support is also expected from the TMR ``Viscosity solutions and their Applications'' through the working teams of Milano and Padova, coordinated by Claudio Verdi and Martino Bardi.
