The aim of the workshop is to exchange results and ideas about the state of the art on well--posed and stable
problems in optimization. We intend well--posedness, stability in a broad sense, and we are interested in
enlarging the fields of applications of the two concepts. Some of the topics treated in the workshop will be
scalar optimization, including calculus of variations, optimal control and mathematical programming, vector
optimization, game theory, equilibria in decision theory, critical point theory and its applications to
differential equations, regularization of ill--posed problems. The unifying theme is the stable or unstable
behaviour of solutions of an optimum problem, as far as perturbations on the data are introduced. Topological,
as well as analytical and numerical aspects are of interest in this connection along with applications.
