AURORA, a special research program sponsored by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), focuses on models, applications and software systems for high performance computing. Particular emphasis is placed on the research and development of algorithms, high level languages, tools, and advanced scientific and commercial applications, such as quantum mechanics, semiconductor simulation, and financial optimization.
