Description:
AIMS:
To bring together specialists on Geomechanics (including Geotechnical Engineering,
Geophysics, Mining and Petroleum Engineering) and Mathematics to discuss problems of common interest.
TOPICS: - Mathematical models for anelastic (i.e. hysteretic) behaviour of soils and rocks - Numerical problems encountered with the above models (including integration techniques, regularisation of ill-posed problems, inverse problems) - Non-Boltzmann continua, i.e. continua endowed with non-Riemannian internal geometry - Plastodynamics (wave propagation in anelastic media, shock fronts and Riemann solvers) - Multiphase continua - Description of model parameters by fuzzy set theory
Speakers: D. Muir Wood: Introduction to soil behaviour, R. Nova: Elastoplastic constitutive models, J. Desrues: Shear bands and localization of deformation, D. Caillerie: Uniqueness of soil behaviour, W. Wu: Hypoplastic constitutive models, I. Herle: Hysteretic behaviour of soil, C. Tamagnini: Multiphase media
