Host: Texas A&M University
Homepage: http://www.math.tamu.edu/research/workshops/maple/maple.html
Organizers: Michael Stecher
Description:
In addition to learning how to use the Maple CAS (Computer Algebra System), participants of the workshop will
also have the opportunity to see how the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University has integrated
this tool into its engineering calculus sequence, from first semester calculus through differential equations.
In the past this workshop concentrated more on how to use Maple with a little time spent on using it as a Pedagogical tool. While it is important to know how to use Maple to do mathematics, it became apparent that participants wanted more. Accordingly, this summer we will spend at least 1/2 day or more on how to use Maple to improve a student's understanding of mathematics. If you are interested in learning more about how this will be done contact Michael Stecher.
