The goal of the summer school is to give an overview of certain geometric and analytic methods and to
emphasize their applicability within the area of inverse problems. The lectures are planned so that roughly
one half of them concentrate on the mathematical background material such as differential and integral
geometry and boundary control theory of partial differential equations. The other half has its emphasis on
inverse problems, demonstrating how the general mathematical theory enters into this applied area.
