Description:
The development of effective computer software has made it easy for engineers and researchers to solve boundary value problems for a large
variety of material models. However extrapolation of the recent achievements indicates that computational power will develop faster than
material knowledge. It is therefore important to increase research activities in the area of material testing and identification of material
parameters.
Modern field methods combined with computational methods offer new possibilities to extract material data from experiments both at low and high loading rates. An example of an effective approach is to combine optical methods by which large quantities of field information are obtained, with advanced FE or other numerical methods. The methods to obtain desired material model parameters are of particular interest to the symposium.
The aim of the suggested symposium is to bring together researchers from the analytical, computational and experimental fields who have as a common interest testing for identification of advanced constitutive models of solids.
