Description:
The DELTA series of symposia on the teaching and learning of undergraduate mathematics is a southern hemisphere activity which began in 1997 with the first DELTA conference in Brisbane, Australia which took place from 21-24 November 1997. It was followed by DELTA'99 in Laguna Quays on the Whitsunday Coast In Queensland from 21-24 November 1999.

The theme of the conference is GEARING FOR FLEXIBILITY. After diversity (the theme of Delta ’99) comes flexibility – the ability and agility to move between diverse options. The conference will assess the current state of mathematics education and research in the world at the year 2000 and formulate guidelines for reform and promotion of mathematics education and research on the basis of this assessment and in line with the IMU’s WMY 2000 objectives.
