The goal of the biennial IDEAL Conference series is to provide a forum for researchers and
engineers from academia and industry to meet and to exchange ideas on the latest developments
in data engineering and learning. IDEAL 2000, built on top of the success of IDEAL98
(http://www.cse.cuhk.edu.hk/ideal98), focuses on data engineering technology and applications
in the 21st century. The three major tracks for this year are Financial Engineering, Data
Mining and Intelligent Agents.
