Description:
Gamma Ray Bursts have fascinated astronomers since their accidental discovery in the sixties. Thanks to pivotal discoveries by BATSE and BeppoSAX, our understanding of these mysterious bursts has advanced in the last ten years. We know today that the bursts represent the most powerful explosions in the universe. We will explore Gamma Ray Bursts and related high energy phenomena: Supernovae, QSOs, Blazars, and Mini-Quasars. The school will cover both observational and theoretical topics and the goal is to seek similarities and to draw parallels between related phenomena.
