The conference is organized by the École polytechnique in France, within the framework of
world mathematical year 2000. It is sponsored by the Société Mathématiques de France (SMF) and
by the Société de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (SMAI).
Purpose
Present the state of the art in the applications of Mathematics in the different aspects of today's society. This conference should attract users, engineers and researchers interested in their practical or professional life by Mathematics and by their applications.
