This meeting will try to promote the integration of different areas of
science and technology to produce basic scientific knowledge and scientifically sound decision-making tools.
These include screening and cost/effective analytical tools for control and monitoring, integration of
toxicity-based methods in Risk Management and Life Cycle Assessment, combined Quantitative Hazard Assessment
for complex industrial emissions; development of comparative Ecological Risk Assessment methods for pesticides
and biocides, and development of tools to prioritise and integrate approaches to assess the environmental
consequences of human activities. Other innovative proposals will also be welcome.
