The New Zealand Institute of Chemistry, in association with: the New Zealand Biotechnology Association, BIOTENZ and the New Zealand Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology announce Molecules for Life 2001 a conference to be held at the War Memorial Centre, Napier, New Zealand. The conference will commence with a mixer on the evening of Tuesday December 4, 2001.

The three day conference will include:

Presentations by international and nationally acclaimed scientists; Specialist symposia & group meetings; Conference Banquet ; Opportunities to get a "taste" of the many things to do and see in Hawke's Bay; Trade Displays.

The general theme of the conference is Molecules for Life. Specific themes of keynote and plenary lectures include:

The Chemistry of Good Taste; in silico Biology (Bioinformatics, computational biology) ; Green Science; Food in Health; Structural Biology; Publish & Perish?; Molecular Design and Construction; New Technologies in Education; Molecular Basis of Disease; Natural Products; Biotechnology; Glycotechnology; Frontiers in Instrumentation; Supramolecular Chemistry; Specialist Group Meetings.
