Organizers: Irene Fonseca, Shlomo Ta'asan, Noel Walkington

Description:
ecent advances in the study of materials with underlying mathematical problems at the forefront of traditional theories have motivated new developments in applied mathematics. In this Summer School lectures in the areas of Mechanics, Analysis, and Scientific Computation will address current progress in the development of mathematical techniques and physical theories as these contribute to a better understanding of multiple scale structures and multiple scale systems. Topics will include microstructure, coarse graining, thin structures, phase transformations, magnetic materials, conservation laws, materials design, and related questions.
