Description:
The conference is intended to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the first pan-African conference, which was coordinated by Henry Sylvester Williams.

The historic 1900 conference was organized and spearheaded by Henry Sylvester Williams, A Trinidadian and a lawyer. The 1900 conference appealed to persons from Canada, United States, Africa, England and the Caribbean. These delegates represented a wide cross-section of society-professionals, academics and the working class.

During the 20th century the impact of the 1900 conference was evident in the liberation struggles of Africa, decolonisation, the Civil Rights Movement, Black Power and Rastafarianism.
