To discuss the latest development in learning and motivation research To examine issues pertaining to school engagement/disengagement To provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between educators from various domains To create awareness of new theories and research approaches, together with innovative and effective teaching methodology among educators.

Sub-Themes for the Seminar

Papers pertaining to a broad array of learning and motivation constructs and processes are invited, which will include the following:

1.Individual differences in learning (e.g., learning styles, personality traits) 2.Social psychological processes in learning (e.g., parenting skills, peer influence, cognitive processes) 3.Affective variables (e.g., worry and emotionality, mental health) 4.The psychology of underachievers (e.g., adolescents at risk) 5.Self-constructs in learning and motivation (e.g., self-concept, self beliefs, self-regulation, epistemological beliefs) 6.Lifelong learning (e.g., learning disposition) 7.Effective and motivating learning strategies 8.Effective and motivating instructional strategies 9.Psychological measurements in learning and motivation research
