Psychology in Singapore is similarly young and old. Young in its establishment as a formal discipline taught in academic institutions, old in the rich heritage of traditional wisdom on human behaviour and the workings of the mind written in books of theology and philosophy across the religions found in Singapore. These include Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity. What is captivating to a visitor to Singapore is to see how this diversity of mankind lives happily and peacefully together in our small island. For the psychologist, Singapore is a fascinating case-study in itself.
