Description:
The goal of the summer school is to present in a systematic way the tools needed to understand the preceding developments. More precisely, there shall be lectures on:

1. Algebraic cycles, their equivalences, the Chow groups and their "topological limits". 2. The period mapping, the Abel-Jacobi map, normal functions and the infinitesimal methods. 3. The results of Clemens, Green, Griffiths, Nori and Voisin. 4. Lawson (co)homology.
