Organizers: Bernd Aulbach

Description:
Continuing the series of international conferences on Difference Equations and Applications the sixth meeting will be held in Augsburg/Germany. Both in form and spirit this conference will resume the style established during the previous meetings in San Antonio,Texas/USA (1994), Veszprém/Hungary (1995), Taipei/Taiwan (1997), Poznan/Poland (1998) and Temuco/Chile (2000).

The conference will cover all themes of the field of ordinary and partial difference equations, classical and contemporary, theoretical and applied. There will be about 30 invited lectures in the morning and contributed talks in the afternoon sessions as well as an open problems seminar.

The themes of this conference include, but are not limited to:

General theory of difference equations; asymptotic behavior; oscillation theory; stability theory; bifurcation theory; control theory; chaotic dynamics; complex dynamics; iterated function systems; numerical approximations; discretization of differential equations; dynamic equations on time scales; discrete equations and inequalities; discrete transformations; functional equations; orthogonal polynomials; stochastic processes; industrial mathematics; mathematical engineering; discrete models and applications in economics, biology, physics and other disciplines.
