Description:
Transient interactions between proteins and RNA play key roles in processing, nuclear-cytoplasmic transport, cellular localisation and translation of RNA. RNA molecules are also central components of ribonucleoprotein particles (RNPs) such as the ribosome, spliceosome, signal recognition particle, telomerase and RNase P. Recently the crystal structures of the ribosome at atomic resolution have given us crucial insights into the architecture and functions of the ribosome. Many other RNPs are under intensive investigation and this meeting will bring together scientists of diverse discipline working on a wide range of RNPs from different systems.
