Description:
The Thirteenth Annual ACM Symposium on Parallel Algorithms and Architectures (SPAA '01) is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Groups on Algorithms and Computation Theory (SIGACT) and Computer Architecture (SIGARCH) and organized in cooperation with the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science and Computer Technology Institute (CTI).

This year, SPAA defines "parallel" very broadly to encompass any computational "device" that can perform multiple operations or tasks simultaneously. As a consequence, SPAA 2001 covers all traditional parallel and distributed architectures, plus new aspects including satellite networks, the web, quantum and DNA computing, etc.
