Description:
The series of "Coloquios latinoamericanos de Álgebra" was organized yearly by the late
Orlando Villamayor and others, from 1980 until 1994, with the aim of gathering algebraists of the
Southern part of America. The idea of the "Coloquio 2001" is to relaunch the series, with the same goals
as in the past:
- to promote academic exchange among Latin American algebraists;
- to disseminate recent results in the area, thanks to the participation of distinguished specialists;
- to allow young graduate students and post-doctoral fellows the access to modern research topics.
