OR in a globalised, networked world economy.
The exponential growth of the electronic commerce, the electronic communication and networked world economy,
gives OR an opportunity to prove itself once more. As we approach the 50th anniversary of IFORS we realize that
OR is well and alive. We can formulate and solve global larger problems with old and new methodologies. The
enormous amount of data available to the decision maker makes it a challenge to select the appropriate and relevant
data. OR addresses issues in engineering, social, economical and other disciplines.
