Description:
Online measurement takes over an increasing number of monitoring tasks. Considerable progress in sensor technology as well as in application development has been reported recently. Continuous measurements have a potentially high impact on a number of water quality management issues and process analysers are available for an increasing number of water quality parameters.

Automatic measurement has to be considered if quality changes over time or space are of importance (e.g. control of dynamic systems) and for water quality monitoring at remote or inaccessible sites. Sometimes automatic measurement might also be attractive simply because it is cheaper than sampling and laboratory analysis.

The development of useful applications of automated measurement technologies involves specialists from various disciplines. This conference is intended to enhance the dialogue between water specialists, plant operators, chemists and instrument suppliers. Presentations will cover successful applications as well as the most recent developments in sensor technology. An accompanying exhibition will present the state of the art.
